KUNDALINI POWER OR ENERGY
You might have seen many articles in the hub pages and other websites on the above subject. However, I am writing this article from my own experience, therefore it must be true and realistic. One must hear such things from only experienced persons.A realized person can say boldly and declare the truth he has seen.Ofcourse, there are many persons in the world who can speak authentically in this subject and I am one among them.
As per Yogis, there are two nerve currents in the spinal column, called Pingala and Ida, and a hollow canal called Sushumna running through the spinal cord. The Pingala represent the Sun and Ida represent the Moon, the right and left portion of a human being. At the lower end of the hollow canal is what the Yogis call the "Lotus of the Kundalini". It is in triangular form, in which, in the symbolical language, there is a power called the Kundalini, coiled up. When the Kundalini awakes, it tries to force a passage through this hollow canal, and as it rises step by step, as it were, layer after layer of the mind becomes open and all the different visions and wonderful powers come to the Yogi. When it reaches the brain passing throug the below six centres, the Yogi is perfectly detached from the body and mind, the soul finds itself free.
The awakening of the Kundalini is the begining of spiritual consciousness, and its union with the Crown chakra (Sahasrara), ending in samadhi or trans or superconscious stage, is the consummation of the Tantrik disciplines. When the Kundalini power awakes, the Yogi can see this energy as a Serpent with all similarity, through the Anjha or Forehead. It is therefore called as Serpent power also. Hindu legends say that the Earth, Sun and Moon and all other Planets are persisting and rotating with the aid of this great Serpent power. That is why Hinduism is giving big importance to Serpents and it even worship them in different forms. As there is a serpent power within our body, it is likely that there is a similar power in the Cosmos too since the human beings, animals, creatures and planets are the part and parcel of it, if I say in simple language we are the pocket edition of this great Universe in all senses. To point out the great importance of Serpent power, one can see the iimportant deities of Hindus, Lord Vishnu and Lord Shiva, Vishnu sleeps on Anantha the great serpent with Five heads. Lord Shiva in the human form simply wears two serpents as ornamants in his neck. Lord Shiva is a deity of the anscient Saivaites as "SIVA LINGA":and Lord Vishunu is the deity of the anscient Vaishnavas.Acutually these forms have symbolic meaning as these forms represent Universe which is one and all.Lord Vishnu is resting on a huge Serpent with five heads.Actually this is symbolic as the five heads are the Pancha PRANA (Five energies), viz. Prana, apana, udana, vyana and samana, PRANA being the main. Others are subsidiaries of the great Prana which is the source of energy in the Cosmos. When PRANA joins with AKASHA the very creation is started. By the power of Prana, just as the Akasha is the infinite, omnipresent material of this universe, so is the Prana the infinite, omnipresent manifesting power of this universe. Now in India there is no much feeling as Saivas or Vaishnavas as Vendanta philosophy teach a God without form whatsover. From this one can realize the importance of Serpent power in Hindu mythology. There are many Temples in India for worshipping sepents. It is due to the above reason and it is actually worshipping the own Kundalini power for its awakening for reaching spiritual relam.
The Sushumna is in ordinary persons closed up at the lower extremity; no action comes through it.The Yogi proposes to practice by which it can be opened, and the nerve currents made to travel through. When a sensation is carried to a centre, the centre reacts. As said eariler there are various centres in ther body and all these residual sensations are stored up is called the Muladhara, the root receptacle, and the coiled up energy of action is Kundalini , the coiled up.As the Kundalini force travels from centre to centre, layer after layer of the mind, as it were, open up, and this universe is perceived by the Yogi in its fine , or casual form. Then alone the causes of this universe, both as sensation and reaction.are known as they are, and hence comes all knowledge. The causes being known, the knowledge of the effect is sure to follow.
Thus the rousing of the Kundalini is the one and only way to attaining Divine Wisdom, superconscious perception, realisation of the spirit. The rousing may come in various ways, through love for God, through the mercy of perfected sages or through the power of the analytic will of the philosopher.Wherever there was any manifestation of what is ordinarily called supernatural power or wisdom, there a little current of Kundalini must have found its way into the Sushumna. In the vast majority of such cases, people had ignorantly stumbled on some practice which set free a minute portion of the coiled-up Kundalini. All worship, consciously or unconsciously, leads to this end. In fact all world's greatest spiritual leaders are definitely Kundalini awakend persons without which they can never become so magnanimous with renouncement. It is my presumption that no religious system in the world except Yoga and Vedanata speaks boldly about this power exisiting in Spirituality.Other religions of the world discussing it as spiritual energy or holy spirit and Bliss for its action.
God, according to Hindu philosophy cannot be realized through logic or reason, and without Bhakti or Devotion, all penances, austerities, and rites are futile. Man cannot realize God by Self-exertion alone. For the vision of God His grace is absolutely necessary, and this grace is felt by the pure of heart. The mind is to be purified through bhakti. The pure mind then remains for ever immersed in the ecstasy of God-vision. It is the cultivation of this divine love that is the chief concern of the Vedanta religion.
